CNC Plasma Cutting System - Commissioning Complete

Friday March 16th, 2018 heralded the successful installation of the Machitech Automation CNC Plasma Cutting System.  With the installation complete, Arctech is now capable of handling a full size 8’ x 24’ sheet of plate.

The new cutting system is now capable of cutting 2” thick mild steel plate, 2” thick aluminum plate and 1” thick stainless steel plate using the high definition plasma cutting process.  When we switch to the oxy-fuel gas cutting process the cutting system can cut 6” thick mild steel plate.  The machine is also equipped with an inbuilt scribing system to assist with the identification of parts as they are cut.  With the main rails of the machine running on ¾” Agma 10 Helical Rack and Pinions, the quality of the cut has been drastically increased from the previous cnc cutting process that was used in the workshop.

One of the company’s owners Dean Thom is happy to announce that the machine is now open for business and ready to serve British Columbia’s Oil & Gas Industry along with our many clients here in North East British Columbia.
