This summer, Arctech explored a new business avenue; commercial building renovations. We worked with Norson Construction to fabricate and supply the required steelwork for the Fort St. John Co-Op Mall Upgrade. In addition to our role as a supplier, we also completed the required on-site welding and erection of the steelwork. Due to the ever-changing nature of renovations, we were required to be extremely detailed with our project management systems. Dimensions, locations and priorities were ever-evolving and, in order to satisfy our client and provide high-quality work, our drawings, product and schedule needed to reflect the changes. As we were inexperienced with regards to the safety hazards, associated with renovating aging buildings, we were required to be diligent with our safety program updates and implementation of hazard controls.
