Moody Creek Fall Protection Program
Macro Industries
Arctech Welding + Machining Ltd. was approached by our long time client, Macro Industries, to upgrade the fall protection within TransCanada Pipeline Ltd.'s Moody Creek Compressor Station. This 15,000lb upgrade included ten (10) platforms, with accompanying guardrails and ladders. These platforms, one of which was completely round, were designed to provide safe access to existing equipment. We were responsible for shop detailed drawings, material procurement and fabrication. In addition to the platforms, we also prepared and submitted an in-depth and all-inclusive Turn Over Package. Ensuring efficient installation and seamless connections, with existing material, requires accurate and comprehensive details; in several instances, the design drawings were insufficient. To ensure accuracy, Macro Industries' project manager was in constant communication with our detailer; however, he had limited time on site and was only able to provide field-verified-dimensions occasionally. For several platforms, these field-verified-dimensions were accessible only days prior to their required shipping date. Even so, Arctech was prepared and was able to continue to meet all deadlines and shipment dates
